Sometimes, I write.

Munni Itni Bhi Badnaam Nhi ;)

Yes I had to write about our college fest, how can I not?
Well if u think of it , there’s loads of stuff I should have written but I didn’t. But then, that’s beside the point. The point or ‘hypothesis’ as AK always says (Oh I miss him so much), is that I did attend my college fest this year.

Ya I know it sounds little creepy, I mean who misses out on his own collg’s fest?
Well, I did last year , and many others did so too. You see, our college fest isn’t really too popular or so I had heard. Moreover it was the first time we were away from home (last year), so we were kind of homesick too. But then, if you think of it (yes! once more please), we didn’t actually went home by bunking the fest. We were on a trip to Jaipur!! But that’s beside the point as well (the last time, promise!)).

Gosh I really need to learn to edit my thoughts better.I start by saying something and somewhere in between get lost in a diametrically opposite topic and make such convoluted sentences that sometimes even I forget where I had started off.

Which brings me back to “I attended my college fest this year”. Effervescence is thy name, and it’s definitely worth attending. Now this is not some kind of an article junk that a newspaper throws up on you about a college fest, so don’t expect me to be naming the day today activities that took place or bragging about the enthu among the students or the effort of the staff(was there any btw ?? ) or even the buzz it created. This is my blog and what I’ll brag about is “me”.
It’s the longest I have stayed in college at a stretch. It’s almost 3 months now and I haven’t been home yet, blame it on “we-don’t-give-a-damn-that-you-are-away-from-home” attitude of our collg admin in terms of their “no holidays please” policy and any liberties you take with them would be very subtly rewarded by a simple mail demanding a sum of money that might just take the ‘eating’ part out of your daily activity (those who have eaten at our mess might get that joke). Anyway , the point was that if I had given up on going home for the fest, one thing pretty clearly edged up in my mind was that I better have a hell of a time staying back… and that’s precisely what I did.

Btw, just to justify the title,  it’s a rip off of a song that that I heard for the first time ever during the fest. Originally named “munni badnaam hui” .Now the metaphoric comparison that I have done is that I have called our fest as munni and since it wasn’t really talked about highly in the past, hence it, turning out to be quite fantastic was as much a surprise to me as to anyone who had attended the last year’s fest... which explains “ itni bhi badnaam nhi”.

Speaking of which, it reminds me- why on earth was this song so popular throughout the fest?? I mean, once you hear it ,you’ll realize it’s one of those cheap item number kind of a song that everyone loathes in movies. And yet you could hear it blazing off the amplifiers a zillion times during the fest. The funny part though was that the students actually showed no qualms in showing off their “not-to-be-commented-upon” dancing skills on it each and every single time!!!

Speaking of dance… I DON’T DANCE.  And it’s not by choice, it’s actually by advice. I have been told by many well-wishers of mine not to attempt an activity called dance coz it’s simply something not meant for me. And my past experiences with this endeavor have been humiliating and embarrassing to the extent that I had decided never to give it a try once again.

And hence on my blog tonight, I officially announce that the guy you all (this one’s specifically for my batch-mates) saw dancing like a jerky gorilla on a banana trail on the last two nights of the fest having an uncanny resemblance with my appearance, wasn’t me. I was back in my hostel room watching “FRIENDS”. The guy was some kind of an impostor or a clone or could even be an alien or God knows what not, but IT WASN’T ME !!

I have no idea how he got my clothes, maybe he sneaked into my room posing as ‘me’ after having drunk a poly-juice potion or whatever.. . So all those who are yet to make a sarcastic comment about my dancing skills, please people , take a break. As I always say: “ I don’t get sarcasm, especially if it’s not coming from me” !! :P

Oh I almost forgot, what I had set to write in this post… about “Effy” . But then again, on second thoughts.. no one really gives a damn about what I write, and anyway I think I have had enough fun already discussing things in and around “effy” that I highly doubt whether the main course will live up to the level of excitement that the appetizers provided ?? or to put it in a more impish and wicked way whether the main act would be as spicy as the foreplay !!! (maybe some other time)
ADIOS people…. Catch you soon !!

PS: I need an invisibility cloak to hide under for the rest of my life because of that stupid impostor guy… if anyone has access to Hogwarts , plz reply soon on niks1490@gmail.com , the inane looking mystical invisibility watch from Mr. India might do the job as well…. Mr. Boney Kapoor, you listening ??
